Modalities

  • Cupping is a therapy in which silicone, plastic or glass cups are used to create suction on the body. This suction promotes increased blood flow and relieves muscle tension.

  • Gua Sha/Rockblades uses traditional stone or metal tools to apply light, gliding pressure to an area of the body. This is used to break up scar tissue, increase blood flow and relieve muscle tension.

  • Rock Tape is a gentle adhesive tape that lifts the skin, accelerating blood flow to increase the amount of oxygen available to the muscles, which reduces fatigue and decreases recovery time in injuries. It also promotes lymphatic drainage decreasing local swelling in the applied area.

  • Specific to acupuncture in our office. The use of electrical stimulation (e-stim) is paired with acupuncture needles to reduce pain through the use of small electrical currents that pass through the needles. This method helps to reduce pain and decrease tension in muscles.

  • Percussion therapy involves using a massage gun to rapidly strike muscle tissue, increasing blood flow for faster recovery, pain relief, and improved range of motion.

All modalities are included with your massage therapy or acupuncture appointment at no additional charge. The use of each modality is subject to each practitioners discretion.
